Although Benajah A. Skinner is commonly called "Benajah Abner Skinner" in many online family trees, a land record in Sullivan County, NY (Liber 4 p. 321) spells out his full name and that of his son, Benajah G. Skinner as Benajah Augustine Skinner and Benajah Gustine Skinner, respectively.

He was born in 1765 in Orange County, New York.

He was reportedly buried with his grandparents in the Gustin Family Burial Ground in Sussex County, New Jersey, although no tombstone exists to confirm this.[1]
