Joseph Skinner served on the Committee of Safety in the year 1776 at Lyme, Grafton County, New Hampshire. His name appears in " Alarm list" same year and place. Capt. Green's Company " altered bills".
He was one of the earliest settlers and founders of Lyme, N. H., going there previous to 1773, for his name appears in the " poll list" of that year. [7]
