Francis Lightfoot Slaughter, was born c 1730 in what was Spotsylvania County, now Culpeper County, Colony of Virginia to parents Francis Slaughter and wife Ann Lightfoot. NOTE: that Culpeper County was organized in 1749. On 2 March 1752 (needs citation) in St Mark's Parish, Culpeper County, Francis married Sarah Coleman, daughter of Robert Coleman and Sarah Saunders.
This couple had at least 7, possibly 9 children;
Some online trees include Lucy Slaughter born St Margaret's Parish in Caroline County, Virginia. Supposedly she died aft 1792 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. More work is needed to prove or disprove this connection.
In 1784 Francis Slaughter rec'd 200 acres in Kentucky for his Revolutionary service and shortly thereafter the parents Francis and Sarah and most of the issue moved to Kentucky from Virginia.
Sarah Coleman Slaughter died c April 1793 in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Kentucky and Francis L Slaughter died 1805, same place.

Francis Slaughter Jr, gave a power of attorney to his son-in-law, James Crutcher to demand these three slaves, his sister Frances having died without issue and the slaves then being vested to him (per the request made in the will of his father Francis Slaughter Sr . there is more but it is evident from this William Ball and Frances Slaughter Ball had no issue. [1] 16 July 1767. Francis Slaughter and Sarah his wife of Culpeper County to Reubin Slaughter of same. Fras. Slaughter Sarah Slaughter 16 July 1767. Acknowledged by the parties. Sarah was first privily examined. (This deed may have been his brother Reuben Slaughter b c 1733)
Some questions are forefront, such as if the pair were married in 1752, then there were probably more children born, like 5 or 6 of them before Sarah in 1764. If Henry and Lucy do in fact belong to this family, then maybe they were born earlier than is estimated for them. Same for Sarah since her birthdate is just an estimation.
I am hopeful more researchers will add credible sources and citations here, not just online tree sites. If you have something interesting, please add it.
