Marriage
Joanna married Jacob Mott, son of Adam Mott [1][3] & Sarah Jennings.
Joanna was a Quaker minister, and traveled without her husband to preach, at a time when this just was not done. [citation needed]
Joanna is the ancestor of James Mott, the husband of one of Nantucket’s most famous daughters, 19th century women’s rights and anti-slavery crusader (and Quaker) Lucretia Coffin Mott. [citation needed]
Death & Burial
Joanna died 4/5 Jan 1727/8. [3][6] Other death unsubstantiated dates proposed include 15 Nov 1711 [citation needed] and 6 Mar 1727. [citation needed]
