Biography
Pernel was born in Georgia in 1844 to Elisha Bennett Smart and Tabitha Steed. In 1850, the family was living in Campbell County, Georgia. He was listed as Perral P Smart on the census.[1]
Pernel passed away during the Civil Wra in 1863 at age 18. Burial was in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Palmetto, Fulton County, Georgia.[2]
