Biography

Harriet was born in 1891. She passed away in 1955. Harriet is interred at Cheltenham Cemetery.

Address on marriage certificate in 13th January1915 was 47 Park St Parkville. Witnesses were William Henry Smith William Ernest Farrow, Ruby Victoria Chaffey and Charles Henry Smith.

Her daughter Wilma wrote the following about her mother whilst researching her ancestry:

My mother, I have been told, was the one member of the family who always seemed to be nursing the sick. She cared for her mother while ill, living at home, never worked outside of home-duties. My fathers father also lived with my family in his later years, and mum looked after him. Also my fathers brother. I believe she was a wonderful person and her strength of character showed, when over a period of 4 years (1930-1934) she was operated on by Dr Edward Dunlop at the Alfred Hospital 9 times to remove cancerous growths. She recovered and lived another 30 years to the age of 64, when her cancer reoccurred.
