Biography

Artimesia Smith was born on May 30, 1849, in Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Smith and Phebe "Judah" R Unknown She married Lemuel Dolphas Painter in 1866 in Ohio. They had five children during their marriage. She died on November 6, 1888, in Keltner, Douglas, Missouri, at the age of 39, and was buried in Christian, Missouri.
