On the 1900 census Thomas Barrington is in Dallas County and shown as being married to Ida for 14 years (marriage about 1886) and their first child was born in April 1887 with several additional children.

This makes it almost impossible that this Thomas married Amanda in July, 1887. From the names of his and Ida's children, this is the son of Marshall M. Barrington.

Research Notes

21 July 2020 Looking at conflicts in dates

  1. She may have married first W Shockley at some point between 1880 when she is in the parental home and 1885 when she married Thomas Barriington. Together they had 1 child. This child, a son, was born 7 Apr 1887. This makes it very awkward since she was supposed to be also married to Thomas Barrington at this time
  2. She married Thomas Barrington on Feb 12, 1885 Together they had 7 children.
  3. She married James Shockley on December 28, 1913. There was no issue to this marriage.
  4. She died on February 18, 1958 in San Angelo, Tom Green, Texas, United States
