Oliver married Ruth Staple, both of Taunton, Nov. 8, 1763, in Taunton.

Oliver Soper of Taunton was an officer during the Revolutionary War, serving as a Captain in Col. Timothy Walker's Bristol County regiment in 1775,

and continuing on with Walker in the Continental service through the year 1776.

Oliver died on 8 August1821 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts, United States, aged 82.
