Biography

When Thomas A Spearman was born in 1805 in Newberry, South Carolina, his father, Edmund, was 32 and his mother, Susannah, was 29. He married Emily Watts in 1819. They had at least ten children:

  • Annie Priscilla (1832–1919)
  • James W (1836–1882)
  • Margaret (1837–)
  • Narcissus Candis (1840–1919)
  • Caroline 'Carrie' M. (1840–1920)
  • Frances 'Fanny' E. (1841–1897)
  • Sarah 'Sally' (1846–)
  • Tabitha Elmira (1846–1925)[1]
  • Susan 'Sudie' (1847–1924)

Emily died in 1873 and Thomas died on November 6, 1875, in his hometown at the age of 70, and was buried in Cross Hill, South Carolina.[2]
