Spencer-13828 and Spencer-10756 appear to represent the same person because: Though the names are slightly different (Polly, versus Molly), I believe it is the same person as DOB and POB are the same as are the parents. "Polly" shown as son of Gen John Spencer and Susannah White and married to James Coates in "Robert Coates of Lynn Mass and Some of His Descendants" page 30.

"41. James5 Coates (John4, Joseph3, Robert2, Robert1), was born at Middlefield, Mass. 23 Oct. 1773 and died at Martinsburgh, New York 25 Feb. 1855, his probate was dated 22 Dec. 1859. He married first, at Middlefield 27 Jan. 1803 Polly Spencer, who was born at East Haddam, Conn. 25 Aug. 1775 and died at Martinsburgh 29 Sept. 1810, the daughter of Brig. Gen. John and Susannah (White) Spencer. He married second, 15 March t 813 Nancy Gates, who was born at Dummerston, Vermont 3 June 1788 and died 27 Oct. 18(76) in 89th yr., the daughter of Phineas and Rebeccah (Ward) Gates. (proof of 2nd marriage in service papers). In 1804, James removed to Martinsburgh, settling on West Road beside Roaring Brook. The house he built was still standing in 1927, when his great grandchildren visited there. In the War of 1812, James served in the New York State militia. He enlisted at Martinsburgh and was discharged at Sackets Harbor, service one month in 1814, serving under Capt. Me Knight, Capt. Abner Clapp and Maj. or Col. Collins. "
