01 Aug 1894: John W. Carey married Lillian E. "Lil E" Spencer, Monroe County, Florida

The couple lived at 1121 Elgin, Key West, Monroe Co., Florida where John died. The home was passed on to various descendants so that a few generations lived there.

Apparently the couple was unable or uninterested in concieving for the census of 1910 reported that they had then been married for 12 years with 0 children. This did not stop them, they sheltered relatives and adopted a niece, Julia Brady who seems to have inherited their home.
