Biography

Lewis was born before 1787. He was a son of Thomas Spencer and Mary Morrow. Lewis [KLYD-6KN] married Frances Sorrell [b1794?-Virginia?_d1850?-?[L61Y-L85]], {daughter of Elisha Sorrell [b1754?-?_d1825?-?[LZGL-CMS]] and Sarah Elizabeth (Redman) Sorrell [b1762?-?_d1825?-?[LBRR-34Z]] (married1778 in Culpeper,Virginia)} in Bath, Kentucky on 5 April 1812. It is recorded that they had at least 3 daughters, of which were Pheobe Spencer [b1826?–?_Deceased[9N5N-2P6]], Amanda Levina (Spencer) Ray [b1828?-?_d1902?-?[LCPG-6K5]], and Nancy Spencer [b1831?–?_Deceased [9N5N-2PK]], as listed with Family Search.
