Walter was born on 24 January 1767 in East Greenwich, Kent, Rhode Island, USA. He was the son of Benjamin Spencer and Sarah Johnson.
When Walter was 26 he married Hannah Card on 19 May 1793 in East Greenwich, Kent, Rhode Island, United States.[1]
The couple had 9 children: Benjamin Spencer, Job Spencer, Charles Spencer, Sybil Spencer, @I24831@, Walter Spencer, Hannah Spencer, Giles Spencer and Vernun Spencer.
