Spofford-186 and Spofford-171 do not represent the same person because: According to "Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988 Georgetown Paupers´ Records, with Births, Marriages, and Deaths" Samuel and Sara Spofford had two daughters named Mary. The first was born 8/7/1682 and apparently died before the second Mary was born on 6/15/1692
I've spent some time looking into this further, and think the problem is that the date shown for Mary's sister Sarah's birth is incorrect in showing Dec 24, 1680. This date derives from the Spofford book for which a link is posted on their mother's profile (I haven't found that date anywhere else). According to Rowley Town Records, there was a "Mary" born August 7, 1682. Sarah was baptized Sept 24, 1682 per the Rowley Town Records. In all likelihood, and as Blodgette says in his book (link on mother's profile), the August 7 1682 birth date was for Sarah, not Mary, despite what the Town Records show. A baptism for Sarah about 2 months after her birth makes sense.
That leaves Mary, for whom there is a birth shown as June 15, 1692, (Rowley MA Town Records) and a baptism shown as Aug 14, 1692 (Parish Baptisms, 1626-2001, Rowley). So, it appears to me that there was only 1 Mary, and 1 Sarah, but the Town Records showing a birth for Mary that was actually for Sarah, made it all too confusing, especially when coupled with the Spofford book date error.

Spofford-186 and Spofford-171 appear to represent the same person because: Merge them for now, if I find something on the death of the first Mary I'll add her
Spofford-186 and Spofford-171 may represent the same person; it appears that different dates are found for each of their births in different sources. See mother's profile, Research Notes section for sources.
It should be noted that neither MA Vital Records, nor any sources found shown show a death of Mary Spofford between 1680 and 1692, suggesting there is only one daughter Mary.
