Sarah Jane Spooner was born Oct 1 1839 in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales, the daughter of David Nash Spooner and Ann Dayer. After her father's early death she emigrated to America with her widowed mother and two brothers. She joined the Latter Day Saints and was the 7th wife of the Patriarch Benjamin LeBaron. Two daughters were born to them as well as a son who died in infancy. When the call came to pioneer Arizona, they settled in Tempe where Sarah Jane went into the hotel and restaurant business. Her husband Benjamin died in 1905. She died 5 Nov 1911 (aged 72) Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona, and was buried City of Mesa Cemetery Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona, MEMORIAL ID 22980115 ·

At 18 years of age, their daughter Ann married Don M. LeBaron in the Salt Lake Endowment House and moved to Arizona where they had ten children born to them. Daughter Sarah Jane married Benjamin Franklin LeBaron, brother of Don M. LeBaron. This couple had ten children.
