Birth

Moses was born in 1844. He was the first son of Michel St. Cyr and his new co-wife Mink Woman.

Name

His Hocąk name was Wakiskaga, "White Gorget." (Honoring) This is from wakís, "shell gorget"; ska, "white"; and -ga, a definite article suffix used in personal names.

Occupation

The 1870 Federal Census shows that he was a farmer on a plot of land next to that of his father, Michel (Mitchel) St. Cyr.

Military Record

Moses served in the Civil War. (Honoring)
