Excerpt from the "Stallard Connection": Mr. Stallard was a farmer at Clinch, Scott County, Virginia. He was a local preacher in the Methodist Church. His fame for mathematical ability and for an unusually good memory extended beyond the limits of the neighborhood in which he lived. He was a very unusual personailty. He is buried on the James Monroe Stallard-Jeremiah Lawson Cemetery Hickory Corner Lane GPS:36º46'33"-N 82º28'31"-W
