Kevin Charles Standen and Hazel Audrey Potter married in St Joseph's Church.
They married 26 Jun 1954.
Kevin's occupation is given as a Hair Dresser and residing at 63 High Street, Strathfield. He was aged 24.
Hazel was born at Strathfield, NSW, residing at 26 Eve Street, Strathfield. She was aged 23. Her occupation was a Shop Assistant.
The marriage was witnessed by Ivan J Cousins and Terese Standen. Ivan was a friend of Kevin's from work as a hairdresser.
Lived in Lake Cargellico, West Wylong and did his apprenticeship in Lythgow.
Kevin Standen married to Hazel Porter 26 June 1954 at St Joseph's Church, Enfield in NSW. Together they had 6 sons.
Sydney Archives has a reference to Kevin: Barbers Shop licence card. 393 George St, Rooms 5/7 4th Floor. Joseph L. Derossi (1943-1948); Annie Wilson (1948-1949); Sidney Fahy (1949-1951); Ivan G. Cousin & Kevin C. Standen (1951-1957).
After he was married he resided in South Enfield and then Burwood (6 Sym Avenue from 1958) where he was a hairdresser (following in his fathers footsteps as he was a barber). He was a very skilled snooker player, golfer and also played lawn bowls and when he was younger was an amateur bare knuckle boxer.
Kevin was a quiet and reserved man, his wife Hazel was the talker of the two of them. He attended St Josephs Church in Enfield each Saturday night and was an active member of the local RSL in Burwood. He was also a member at St Michaels and Carnarvan golf clubs. He worked most of his career as a hairdresser at Graham And Linden salon in Sydney.
