Biography

On December 29, 1814, Jordan was first mustered into the 6th Regiment, of Captain Bailey Heard's Company, Mississippi Territory Militia[1].

On March 23, 1815, Jordan was discharged; however he was absent because he had deserted[2].

In 1850, Jordan (68 - worked as a farmer) lived in Lowndes County, Mississippi, with his inferred wife Priscilla (62), their inferred daughter Camantha (19 - name as it appears on the census) and their inferred daughter Melisa A. (17)[3][4].

In 1860, Jordan (78 - worked as a farmer) lived in Lowndes County, Mississippi, with C. H. Lance (51 - head of household and worked as a farmer), Bethena Lance (47), James Lance (19 - worked as a farm laborer), Franklin Lance (15), William Lance (14), Mary Lance (10) and his inferred wife Priscilla Stanley (76)[5][6].
