Martha Ruth Stanley was born about August, 1859 in Spring Valley, Greene, Northwest Territory, daughter of Robert Eugene Stanley (1829–1887) and Elizabeth Catherine Morris (1832–1914). Martha (31) married Charles Tipton Patton (32) (born on November 14, 1858 in Kansas Territory; son of Samuel Southard Patton and Rebecca Tipton) on April 15, 1891 in Mineral Point, Anderson County, Kansas. Martha died in 1921 in Anderson, Kansas, United States, aged about 61. She was buried in Patton Cemetery, Anderson County, Kansas.[1]
