== Biography == Born in Minneapolis, Mn . As my father was in the army we also lived in Japan 1952-54 and finally ended up at Ft Bliss in El Paso Texas. My mother is of French Canadian ancestry starting with Caouette and Labonne principally from the Cap St Ignace area of Quebec circa 1690. My father traces to Ireland with his grandmother departing Dublin in 1888. His father traces to the Standley’s in Penn's neck , Salem county NJ circa1690.
Served in U. S Navy 1964-1999. Vietnam Veteran. Retired as Captain.
Located the source of my mtDna A2-C64T , indigenous American believed to be Pert Won married to Antoine Desjarlais in the Pembina region of Manitoba.

I still feel like I should do that Y-DNA test - just "because". It was my wife who surprised me with ordering our auDNA tests.
On a related note, my nephew (also a Stanley) did the test too, and said he ran into your name. If I remember correctly, it was because of his WIFE, who has French-Canadian ancestry, so that's kind of funny.
I also have a DNA match to someone with that VA Standley guy (from the Y-DNA results) in her tree. But that match is on my MOM's side - a fluke!
Tim By the way noticed you’re an RPI grad. I had a navy classmate at the west Milton ny navy nuclear prototype . And lived close to Troy in fall 69- spring 70 while living in Saratoga springs .
