Biography
Sion Parsons Steed was born May 18, 1805, in Montgomery County, North Carolina[1].
He married Martha Patty Steed February 19, 1831, in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Their children were James Wingfield Clarke Steed, Emily Adaline Steed, Nancy Jane Steed, Sarah Martha Steed, William (Doc) Hearn Steed, Caroline Roberson Steed, Laura Ann Steed, Thomas Nelson Steed, John Glenn Steed, and Franklin Harris Steed.
In 1850, they lived in Coweta County, Georgia with their children Thomas N., William H., John J., Caroline, Franklin H., and James W. C.[2]. Patty died two years later.
He married Mary Susanna Veal February 1, 1853, who died after giving birth to their only child, Mary Emma John Steed Key[1].
Sion married Mary Ann Elizabeth Reynolds Adams, a young widow, 13 April 1857. Together they had four children, Lilla Andrews Steed Cook, Fannie Bernice Steed Zellars, Luta May Steed Overby, Laura Adalaide Washington Steed, Ophelia Adelia Catherine Steed, and Manon Love Steed[1].
