Thelma Naomi Maynard, died March 11, 2004, at her residence in Canada, Kentucky. She was born February 19, 1922, in Pike County, Kentucky, to Ireland and Ann (Kennedy) Stepp. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Tunis Edward Maynard, who died March 12, 1994. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ervin, Mont, Charles, and Jonah Stepp. Surviving are her two sons, Lewis and Mickey; two daughters, Marlene and Kathy; three brothers, Rudolph, David, and Oscar; two sisters, Ethel and Doris; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Bells of Joy United Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Stepp Cemetery, Hatfield, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Steven, Marc, Matthew, Eric, Nathan, and Harry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HOPE of Belfry or to the Bells of Joy United Baptist Church.
