Gilbert Buchanan Stevenson was born on the 2nd of November, 1884, in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, the 4th of 7 children of James Stevenson and Jeanie Buchanan.[citation needed]
He moved from Scotland to New Zealand.[citation needed]
At 27, in 1911, he was a drill instructor living at 157 Castle Street, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.[1]
at 47, in 1913, he married Margaret Jones in New Zealand and they had 2 children.[2]
He was a Hairdresser at 28 Wear Street Salon, Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand[3][citation needed]
He was also a noted North Otago Historian.[3][citation needed]
At 58, on the 10th of July, 1953, he died, in Oamaru, Otago, New Zealand.[4] 10 July 1953
