George was born in 1860. He was the son of Marcellus Steward. He passed away in 1923. George established a business as a Druggist in Wallace, ID under the name of Steward Brothers and sold the business in 1919. [1]
His obituary as printed in the Wallace Newspaper: "This morning the mortal remains of George Steward started on the long journey to Homeworth, Ohio, there to be placed beside the remains of his wife, who preceded him to the undiscovered country' many years ago. The body is accompanied by John and Robert Steward, sons of the deceased. Naturally quiet and averse to anything approaching ostentation or personal display, George Steward attracted a wide circle of friends through the practice of high ideals in business, kindly considerations for the rights of others, unfailing generosity to his fellowman and the firm adherence to all those principles that combine to make the highest type of American citizenship. Although not a mixer in the ordinary meaning of that term, he nevertheless had a host of friends who were bound to him with hoops of steel and whose sorrow for his passing is softened by the memory of his generous nature and genial companionship."[2]
