Biography

Christening: Parish Church, Dalserf, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Note: #NI36887.

Notes

Note DI36887Y.

Note NI36887It is entirely possible that John is the son of Robert Stewart and Isobell Hastie, if he was born at Larkhall. I will include him in this family BUT it is yet to be Proven. May 2nd 1769 They [Robert STEUART in Dalbog & Isabel HASTEY his spouse] had a son Baptd Named John While all the children fit nicely as the children of one couple, and while the mother is Couper or Cooper in both parishes, I worry about some children still being up in Dunkeld, or did they return to their place of birth to be married? Dec 17 2nd John STEWART Dalserf death recorded at Cambusnethan, who is he? John had died before 1841 as The Widow Stewart is with their son Robert at London Street. 1

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
