Sir Ninian Stewart was born about 1502 in Isle, Bute, Scotland. He was the son of Ninian Stewart & Elizabeth Blair.[1]
In 1498, his father Ninian Snr was made Keeper of the Royal Castle of Rothesay, an honour still held by the family. With the passing of years, the spelling of the surname was altered to Stuart, in keeping with that adopted by Mary Queen of Scots on her return to Scotland from France.
Sir Ninian Stewart of Nether Kilmory died about 1539 in Kirkwall, Orkney,
About 1520 Sir Ninian Stewart was Married to Elizabeth Lindsay.
