Research notes

There is a James Stewart living with a wife and female child under 6 in the 1838 census which is probably James https://novascotia.ca/archives/census/returns1838.asp?ID=9214 He is enumerated on the same page as Choan Stewart who was part owner of the ship Spray which James immigrated to New Zealand on. There is also a Duncan Stewart on the page who may be related.
