Biography

William Calvin[1] Stewart was born 01[2] November 1844[3] in Mississippi[4] to George W. & Elizabeth Stewart.[4][1][5]

He served in the 7th Mississippi Confederate States Army.[2]

He married wife Mary Jane[6] about 1864[7] and they had the following known children:

  1. Elizabeth[6] M. Stewart was born in Mississippi about 1865.[7]
  2. L. E. Stewart was born in Mississippi about 1870.[7]
  3. Henry[3] H. Stewart was born in Mississippi in February of 1876.[3][7]
  4. Hiram E. Stewart was born in Mississippi in September of 1885.[3]
  5. Harriet B. Stewart was born in Mississippi in February of 1889.[3]

In the 1900 census Mary Jane noted she has had 7 children and 5 are still living.

He died 14 Aug 1907 and is buried in Stewart Cemetery, Pearl River County, Mississippi.[2]

William C. Stewart wrote his will on 03 April 1905 in Pearl River County, Mississippi. The will was entered into the August 1909 term of the Pearl River Court for probate.[8][9]

DNA

  • Maternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on GEDmatch consisting of Carla Lizana, Glen Fleming and Wynon Stewart, who share a 16.8 cM segment on chromosome 1. Carla and Glen are 4C, and Carla and Wynon and Glen and Wynon are 3C2R. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Joseph Wheat and Elizabeth Bagley, who are the 4th great grandparents of Glen and Carla and the 5th great grandparents of Wynon.
