She married Captain Stephen Barton Junior. He was a businessman, selectman, and leader of his local militia in Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts. Together, they were the parents of the famous Clarissa "Clara" Barton, the founder of the American Red Cross. Sarah “Sally” (Stone) Barton passed away in 1851 in North Oxford, Oxford, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States.
