Sarah was born on June 9, 1840 in Norton, Bristol County, Massachusetts[1] and died on October 28, 1924 in Wisconsin.
Thomas Logan Nelson, the son of James and Keziah Nelson, married Sarah Jane Stone, the daughter of Mason and Abigail Stone, on October 29, 1873, in Prescott, Pierce County, Wisconsin.[2]
She is buried in Plen Glen Cemetery in Prescott, Pierce County, Wisconsin.[3]
Mrs. Thomas L Nelson, a resident of this village for 40 years, died at her home here Friday afternoon at the age of 84 years. Death was due to old age.
The funeral was held from --- Presbyterian church Monday afternoon, Rev. J Phillips Garland officiating. Interment was made at Prescott.
Sarah Stone was born at Norton, Mass., June 9, 1840. In 1853 with her parents she came West, coming up the Mississippi river as far as Prescott. The family settled in Glass Valley between Prescott and River Falls. They were the first white settlers in that community.
She attended the Old Academy at River Falls for a few years. She taught her first term of school in the --- district in the town of Oak Grove and later taught at Beldenville, Maiden Rock and Prescott.
She moved to Prescott in 1864. On October 29, 1873 she was united in marriage with Thomas L. Nelson at Prescott. Two years later Mr. and Mrs. Nelson moved to Ellsworth and resided here ever since.[1]
