On 8 Jun 1870, Jacob Frederick Storz was born in Germany [1][2] to Johann Georg Storz and Maria Magdalena, as shown in baptismal documents from Wurttemberg, Deutschland. [3]

On 17 May 1884, Jacob Frederick Storz emigrated to the USA aboard the Belgiunland sailing out of Antwerp. [4]

On 10 Jun 1891, Jacob Frederick Storz became a naturalized citizen of the USA in the Superior Court in Kingston, New York, USA. [5]

On 15 Jun 1891, Jacob Frederick Storz applied for a US Passport in Brooklyn, New York, USA at the age of 21 years. At that time, Jacob was employed as a Grocery Clerk. Jacob was 5'9.5" tall, with high forehead, light blue eyes, long nose, small mouth, round chin, dark brown hair, fair complexion and long face. [6]

Marriage and Family

On 21 Jul 1900, Jacob Frederick Storz was 30 years old, 5' 10" tall, employed as a Laborer and living in Horstville, Yuba, California, USA. [7]

On 5 Sep 1904, William Mathew Storz was born in Sacramento, California, USA to Jacob Frederick Storz (age 34, born in Germany) and Emma Kassmann (age 36, born in Germany). [8]

On 10 Mar 1906, Jacob's mother, Mrs. Lena M. Storz, died in Sacramento, California, USA. Her death was reported in the Sacramento Union:

    Death Came Suddenly: Mrs. Lena M. Storz Found Dead in Bed Yesterday Morning. Mrs. Lena M. Storz, who lived with her son at 2200 Tenth street, was found dead in her bed yesterday morning. Mrs. Storz was alive at midnight Friday night when her son returned from Oak Park. He spoke to her and she answered him. In the morning he got up, cooked his breakfast and then took a cup of coffee in to his mother as usual. He found her dead. Mrs. Storz had been afflicted for a long time with chronic heart disease and had been treated by her family physician, who signed the death certificate, thereby making it unnecessary for Coroner Gormley to hold an inquest on the remains.[9]

Death and Legacy

On 30 Mar 1906, Jacob F. Storz died at age 35 in Sacramento, California, USA. [10]

Jacob's obituary was published in the Sacramento Union:

    STORZ: In this city, March 30, 1906, Jacob F., beloved husband of Emma Storz, father of Elsie M., Daisy C., John G., Emma M. and Willie M. Storz, son of the late Mrs Lena Storz, brother of Ernest G., George and Gus Stroz and the late Mrs. Otto Senner, a native of Germany, aged 35 years, 9 months and 22 days. Future notice of funeral. [11]
