Biography

This profile is part of the Stout Name Study.

Josiah Stout, son of Isaac and Mary Quinby Stout, born 1780 Clover Hill, Hunterdon County, NJ and died October 10 1862 in Tazewell, Fulton County, IL. He was a prominent businessman in New Brunswick, NJ. He was living in Somerset County, New Jersey in 1830[1] with Ann, Charles and Cornelia beside Mary and Samuel Mettler who lived next door to Isaac, her grandfather. They moved to Brooklyn, NY.[2] Mary stayed in New York, Josiah, Ann, Charles and Cornelia moved to Tazewell County, IL in 1854. He married Ann "Nancy" Prall, daughter of Isaac and Mary Gray Prall.

They were the parents of:

  3. Mary Josephine m Samuel Mettler,
  4. Charles Steward
