Biography

Daniel was born on 15 MAR 1721 in Bucks, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Thomas Stradling and Lydia (Doane) Stradling.

Daniel, child of Thomas & Lydia, was born on 15 MAR 1721 in Bucks, Pennsylvania.[1]

Daniel and Sarah Scarbrough announced their intention to marry (first time) on 3 March 1746 in Bucks, Pennsylvania.[2]

Daniel Stradling and Sarah Scarborough announced their second intent to marry at the Quakers Buckingham Monthly Women's Meeting on "6th day of 2nd month, 1746" (translated to 6 APR 1746) which was referred back to the men's meeting [3]

Daniel married Sarah Scarbroug prior to the Buckingham MM on 5 May 1746 in Bucks, Pennsylvania. The overseers reported the marriage as "decently accomplished".[4]

Daniel was recorded in a church event when he presented a certificate for "admittance" from Wrightstown MM to Buckingham MM on 1 June 1752 in Bucks, Pennsylvania.[5]

Daniel was recorded in a church event when he and Thomas Vickers were nominated to serve as elders following the death of Cephas Child on 3 May 1756 in Bucks, Pennsylvania.[6]

Daniel was recorded in a church event when he requested to be released as a Clerk at the MM on 1 May 1758 in Bucks, Pennsylvania.[7]

Daniel was recorded in a church event on 2 August 1773 when he requested that he be released from service as an "elder" in Bucks, Pennsylvania.[8]

[NOTE: There are two 1790 Federal Census reports that were identified for a "Daniel Stradling", firstly- one with one man and one woman and the next lower entry on the same page was for a "Joseph Stradling" who records indicate one man and four females. Secondly - the other record shows one man and four women. Unfortunately, there aren't any other definitive notations regarding either townships or locations in either record so we have only the fact that the two Census reports were taken in Bucks county, Pennsylvania. My assumption is that this first particular record is for our subject, Daniel and his son, Joseph due to the following: 1) Daniel would've been about 69 at the time and Sarah about 67 so chances of no children at home. 2) Joseph was Daniel's son's name and the possibility of there being four females at his home is very high due to their eleven children.
