Looks like we have a duplicate entry for the wife of Baron William West. Please look and merge LeStrange-49 and Strange-78. Same years of birth and death in the same locations
Strange-2168 and Strange-78 appear to represent the same person because: Although there are a number of differences between these two profiles, Strange-2168 doesn't have appropriate sources and was originally created as the wife of William West, 1st Baron de la Warr and they should be merged. Thank you
Tudor Place and Geni think her father Thomas Strange of Chesterton, in Cirencester, was the son of John Strange of Massingham son of Sir Henry Strange of Hunstanton. This seems unlikely, since it's clear from the Visitations that there was a Strange family in Cirencester already (which Tudor Place knows nothing of).
Hist. Parl. has a Thomas Strange of Chesterton, presumably a later one, but doesn't make any connection.
Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry (Vol IV, p 324) says William West's wife Elizabeth Strange is the "daughter of Thomas Strange, of Chesterton..., Gloucestershire." Is he wrong or is it a different Thomas?
Looks like Strange-78 was originally West's wife, and Strange-103 was Thomas's daughter. Then nature took its course (supported by websites, including some that should know better).
But LeStrange-49 has now appeared, so this looks like the time to de-merge the bad merge. Parents removed.
I think this Elizabeth has been given the wrong parents. The pedigree of that Elizabeth is given by Dashwood, Carthew and others, and they say she married a John Cressener.

Which suggests that Hist. Parl is probably wrong in guessing that the MP was the son of Robert

The descent of Chesterton will probably be in Volume 16, which is in progress but not published yet.
A pedigree is mentioned here:

But the family at Chesterton weren't the only Stranges in Cirencester.
Hist. Parl. has a Thomas Strange of Chesterton, presumably a later one, but doesn't make any connection.
sgm thread.
Vis. Glos. 1569, no sign of Thomas the MP.
Vis. Glos. 1623 only follows a cadet branch.
Appendix has the 1569 tree.
But I think we can assume that people have already done the obvious research and not come up with anything.
But LeStrange-49 has now appeared, so this looks like the time to de-merge the bad merge. Parents removed.
