The survey began at a beech tree on the south side of Johns Creek corner to John Preston's Survey No. 7 on the creek, then with the upper line of the same southeasterly crossing Johns Creek and passing the next corner of a beech, then running up Johns Creek on the north side southwesterly to a beech, southwesterly to a sugar tree, southeasterly to a beech and white oak, southeasterly to 2 beeches, southeasterly to a beech, southwesterly crossing Johns Creek to a beech on the hillside, then running down Johns Creek on the south side, then north[east/west]erly (the W and E in the deed are superimposed) to an unspecified mark, then north to another unspecified mark, and finally northeasterly to the beginning. John Graham signed, sealed, and delivered the deed to William James Mayo, Clerk of the Floyd County Court, who recorded it the same day.[6]
