Biography

Sidney E. Stratton, son of John Strutton and Alydia Clark, was born on 15 January 1836 in either Monroe or Blount County, Tennessee. He passed away on 22 June 1910 in Acorn, Monroe County, Tennessee and is buried in Ballplay Ebenezer Cemetery, Vonore, Monroe County.[1]

Marriage

Sidney married Jane LaRue on 8 August 1861 in Miller County, Missouri.[2] Sidney enlisted in the 9th Regiment, Company F, Missouri Cavalry during the Civil War. While he was away his wife, Jane, died giving birth to their daughter Sarah. Sarah was raised by relatives in Missouri and Sidney returned to Monroe County, Tennessee after the war.

Sidney married second Margaret Stephens on 22 November 1866 in Monroe County, Tennessee.[3]
