Biography

Jane Stuart was born circa 1722. She was the daughter of Archibald Stuart (5th of Torrance) and his wife Elizabeth Myrton.

She died on 21 May 1808.

Marriage

On 6 September 1744 Jane Stuart married Thomas Cochrane (8th Earl of Dundonald) the son of William Cochrane and his wife Lady Mary Bruce. As a result of her marriage, Jane Stuart was styled as Countess of Dundonald on 9 July 1758.
