Biography

Naomi was a Friend (Quaker)

On the 5th of the 7th month 1797 "Elizabeth Stuart produced an Offering to this meeting condemming her former misconduct which was Recieved for satisfaction." At the next woman’s meeting, held 5th of the 8th month Ruth Hadley produced a similar Offering. The proceeding minute read, "Naomi, Dinah and Elizabeth the daughters of John and Elizabeth Stuart are (received into the Cane Creek Monthly Meeting as) Minuted Members."[1]

Marriage

Joseph Stout and Naomi declared their intentions before the Friends of Cane Creek Meeting, 5 of the 4th month, 3 of the 5th month and were married by 7 6th month 1806, when it was reported accomplished in an orderly manner and the certificate was produced. [2]

Stuart-3708 and Stuart-761 appear to represent the same person because: Although 3708 has very little data, research through the Quaker minutes will show that both lived at the same time, had the same parents, married the same man. See sources I added to Naomi and husband.
