They moved to the Nimbin district in about 1905/6 and set up a dairy farm.
He passed away at home in Ballina on the 7th of Septemer, 1952.[3] and was buried in the Methodist portion of the Lismore Cemetery.[4][5][6][7]
Suffolk Park, NSW
George gave permission for land along Tallow Beach, Byron Bay, to be used for community use on 16 November 1922. This was known as Suffolk Park. In 1958 George's son Walter Cecil Suffolk transferred ownership of this reserve to the Shire of Byron. Residential developments to the west of the reserve because known as the suburb of Suffolk Park.[8][9]
The death occurred at his home at Ballina on Sunday afternoon of Mr. George Suffolk (77), a resident of 73 Norton Street, Ballina. Mr. Suffolk was born at Tomerong, South Coast, and came to the Richmond River 47 years ago. He settled at Nimbin, where he had been dairy farming for 40 years. He retired seven years ago and had since lived at Ballina. He is survived by a widow, five sons, Fred (Brisbane), Walter (Cowra), Joe and Les (Bangalow), and Eric Suffolk (Old Bonalbo), one daughter, Mrs. S. Pollock (Ulladulla), one brother, Harry Suffolk (Nimbin), twin sisters, Mesdames T. Woolley (Lismore), and C. Hawkins (Tweed Heads) [NB: Isabella and Sarah May were born 6 years apart!], 26 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His funeral will move from the Methodist Church, Lismore, tomorrow, following a service commencing at 11 a.m., for the Lismore cemetery.

Ferrier, of Ballina, conducted a service in the Lismore Methodist Church on Wednesday morning, prior to the burial of Mr. George Suffolk, of 73 Norton Street, Ballina, who died at his home on Sunday night. Mr. Suffolk, who had been residing in retirement at Ballina, was formerly a well known resident of the Nimbin district, and there was a large attendance of residents of both those areas at the funeral. Mr. Suffolk was buried in the Lismore cemetery, where Mr. Ferrier conducted the service. Pallbearers were Messrs. Walter, Fred, Joseph, Eric and Les Suffolk (sons), and Keith Suffolk (nephew), and the wreaths were carried by Messrs. George, Harold and Laurie Suffolk (grandsons). The funeral arrangements were carried out by Will Riley and Son.
