Biography

Elizabeth Sullivan was born about 1800 in the Mississippi Territory; she is thought to be the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Sullivan.

She married Isaac Tedder about 1825[1][2] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Margaret Tedder was born in Simpson County, Mississippi about 1827.[3][4][1][2]
  2. Polly Tedder was born in Alabama about 1828[1]
  3. Mary Tedder was born in Alabama about 1833.[1]
  4. Lafayette Tedder was born in Alabama about 1848.[1] Elizabeth would have been 48 when she gave birth to Lafayette; there is no relationship listed in the 1850 census, and it is possible that he is Elizabeth and Isaac's grandchild.[1]

Elizabeth died sometime after 1860[2] and before 1866, in Washington County, Alabama[5] where widowed spouse Isaac Tedder appears on the state census with the following household members:

males)70-80:1
females)30-40;1[6]
