Thomas "Hog Tom"[1] Sullivan was born in the Mississippi Territory about 1814.[2]

He was married to wife Elizabeth "Betsey" Bishop[3] about 1835.[4] Tom appears on the 1840 census of Smith County, Mississippi with the following household members:

  2. Norris Henry[4] Sullivan was born in October[7] of 1839[6] Mississippi to Thomas Sullivan and Elizabeth Bishop[4]
  3. Joseph Josiah[4] "Joe" Sullivan was born in Smith County, Mississippi on 24 Mar 1841, died 15 Oct 1934 in Raleigh, Mississippi and is buried in Steve Hughes Cemetery (also known as Fletcher Cemetery) in Smith County.[3]
  4. Thomas A. Sullivan was born in Smith County, Mississippi [4] in October of 1843.[8]
  5. Lydia T. "Liddie" Sullivan was born in Smith County, Mississippi [4] 27 Mar 1845, died 16 Nov 1925 and is buried in Merchants Cemetery, Smith County.[9]
