James isn't listed amongst the rest of his family in the 1841 census, but there is a James Sommerville, who was a weaver, who died in Dunfermline in 1832 at the age of 19, which seems like a pretty good fit considering the dates, place, and trade all match.
Assuming this James is the correct James, he died of fever and was buried in Dunfermline.
