This family moved from North Carolina to South Carolina about 1793, and located in the Barnwell District, where they lived until about 1810 when they moved to Tattnall County , Ga. William Branch died in Tattnall County about 1835, about the same time his son of the same name died.
William Branch was a Revolutionary soldier. His widow, Hester (Sumner) Branch, drew land as the widow of a Revolutionary soldier, in the Georgia Land Lottery of 1838, she was residing at the time in Tattnall County, Georgia. [1]
