Isaac Supplee was the great grandson of emigrant Andris Souplis, a Frenchman, born in France, in 1682. Isaac's great grandfather was a Huguenot, and a soldier in the French Army. Isaac's grandfather, Andris left France, due to the persecution by the Roman Catholics, during the reign of Louis XIV, and went to Germany. Here in Germany, Andris met and married Isaac's grandmother, Gertrude Stressinger, also a Huguenot. The couple left Germany for America, arriving in Philadelphia in the early part of 1684.[1]
Isaac was born on September 7, 1754, in Worcester, Pennsylvania. Isaac was one of the 14 children of Hance Supplee and his wife, Magdalena DeHaven.
Isaac served as a 'Private', in the 3d Continental Line; he also served in Captain Sturgis' company.
On May 13, 1777, Isaac Supplee of Fauquier County, Virgina, married the daughter of Quaker William H. Ball and Martha Brumfield, Elizabeth Ball. William Ball was also born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania so it could be that the families of the Supplees and Balls were well acquainted. Further research is needed here.[2]
Isaac died on August 3, 1790, at Upper Merion, Pennsylvania.
Isaac is buried at Bethel Hill Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery in Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
