In 1930 he is back in District 4, Sevier Co., Tennessee, down the road from his father. He is 37 years old, has no occupation and is renting his home. He & Byrd now have 5 children.
In 1940 he lives on 71 Highway in Sevier Co., Tennessee. He is 47 and listed as a Laborer who rents his home. There are 5 children and 2 grandchildren living in his household.
He died 17 Dec 1973 in Sevier Co., Tennessee and is buried in Shiloh Memorial Cemetery in Pigeon Forge, Sevier Co., Tennessee
