Biography

John Van (Bond) Swearingen was born on December 13, 1778, in Hagerstown, Maryland, his father, Charles Swearingen and his mother, Susannah Stull. He married Elizabeth Allaway Bond on April 12, 1803, in Frederick, Virginia. He died on April 21, 1849, in Washington, Marylandand was buried in Joe Mullendore Farm Graveyard, Breathedsville, Washington County, Maryland.
