Biography

"Death of Taglioni. Paris, April 24. - Maria Taglioni, the famous dancer, died at Marseilles to-day. (She was born of Italian parents at Stockholm in 1804. Her father was a ballet master. She made her debut in 1827 at the French opera, and remained upon the stage till 1848, winning great applause in all European capitals.)" [Source: National Republican 1884-APR-25]
