Biography
Wulgrin II (also Vulgrin or Bougrin), called Taillefer or Rudel, was the Count of Angoulême from 1120 to his death on 16 November 1140.[1]
He was a son of Count William Taillefer III.
Vulgrin and his father Guillaume Taillefer donated property to Saint-Pierre d'Angoulême by charter dated to about 1089-1101. [2]
Vulgrin II retook Blaye from William X of Aquitaine in 1127 and reconstructed the castle there in 1140. [3]

Their ancestor was the Norman Baron Taillefer, who accompanied William the Conqueror in his invasion of Great Britain, and of whom Wace, the Anglo-Norman poet, speaks, in describing the battle of Hastings, which took place on Saturday, the 14th October, 1066.
